We are the God of 2nd Chances and Path of Life Ministry, Christian Counseling Ministries of First Baptist Church of Mt. Holly committed to meeting the needs of the church and the community by providing biblical counseling, counseling, life coaching, mentoring, and behavioral assistance services to all individuals who seek guidance.
Over the past 12 years we have helped 80 different families and/or 300 plus individuals. We are currently assisting and counseling 14 families and/or 38 persons one or more times a week depending on the severity of the situation.
Our strategy is to provide a holistic system of care to individuals and families. We work with individuals and families in crisis as well as those trapped in darkness to find hope and healing.
We are committed to partnering with other faith-based organizations as well as state and county agencies to contribute to the holistic approach that improves social, economic, and spiritual health of the individual and families we serve.

Meet the Director
My name is Tabatha Scheffler. I am a counselor, Mental Health & Trauma Life Coach, Behavioral Assistant and Director of Path of Life Ministry.
I have seven degrees including 3 associate degrees, 2 bachelor’s degrees, and 2 master’s degrees (ABCE) in Professional Counseling and Marriage and Family Therapy with a certification in Trauma therapy. I have completed 17 classes in Behavioral Sciences for Children through the State of NJ, completed Mental Health Life Coaching, and am currently working on Youth Life Coaching & Trauma Life Coaching through the AACC & Light University.
Just like everyone else, I have a story that I hope brings glory to God, by helping many who have been through significant life altering events see Jesus and learn how to live life past those events.
We have approximately 15 people who help in different capacities.
We provide counseling along with services based on the counselee’s needs.
Many of the people we work with need food and housing. Sometimes we have helped people in the courtrooms, or with dr. appointments, or the emergency room and subsequent hospitalization. Other times when we have helped with babysitting or shopping.
We teach life skills like banking, grocery shopping, cooking, parenting skills and help with homeschooling when the child cannot attend regular school.
Some of the help we provide is with the welfare program, housing programs, applying for disability, social security or immigration paperwork. We even have several pro-bono attorneys that help when issues arise.
In other words, we teach, we mentor, and we disciple those who are in need as God calls us to do in Titus 2:4 – 8.
